I attended a very special race launch last Monday. This RunRio event was hosted by fellow blogger KulitRunner. Bonggang debut Vimz!
The resource speaker last Monday was Mr Carlo Singson, the country for NBA. He opened his talk by asking us if we were not wondering why NBA is sponsoring a running event.
Why nga ba?
I have friends who run and play basketball. One can’t shoot a ball, I think, but works well in defense. He chases lang whoever has the ball. Speed work? :o)
Mr Singson that this race is part of a series of activities under the NBA Fit program. NBA Fit started in the US as a way to address childhood obesity. When they started the program they realised that since they represent the best athletes, they are in a good position to campaign for better health and fitness.
NBA has now brought the NBA Fit program to the Philippines. The program aims to battle problems caused by sedentary lifestyle and to help educate Filipinos choice healthy options. They are here to challenge us to make a change
NBA Fit partnered with Air21 and Runrio to bring to us the culminating event of their 15 NBA Fit blitz.
Mr Singson also mentioned that the Miami Heat Coach will be joining the race. Not yet sure what distance.
Are you ready to pledge to a healthier lifestyle? Join us on August 7!
