2 runs with colds

They say that the rule of thumb with running and the common cold is that as long as it’s above the neck, it’s okay to run. Click here to read more about it.

Run1                                                                                                                                                                Date : 11Mar  – Colds Status : Runny – Distance : 23.5Kms

Following the neck rule, I decided to go for a run last Wednesday. It was a nice and easy run. I experimented on a new route to avoid the cars along Lawton Ave. The colds bothered me only during the first 3kms. After that everything cleared up and I finished the run without drama. It was long and slow but I completed the distance.

Run2

Date: 18Mar – Colds Status: Clogged – Distance: 2kms

When I woke up this morning, I felt sluggish and with a clogged nose. Colds, again! Following the successful run last week, I did not hesitate to lace up and go. Stop. Go. Stop. Go. This was the theme for the 2kms I completed this morning. Frustrated, I decided to give up and go home.

When I got home, I crashed. I felt so tired, like I just completed a difficult long run.

After downing my usual colds cocktail and a double shot latte, I’m up and about ready to face to music and dance.

On Sunday, don’t be surprised if you see me with a new running gear.

  1. Bards,

Perhaps you should bling up your gear (you might win a prize for it)

    Get well soon(er)!

    😉
