huling hirit sa subic
I know I did not imagine running 21++ kilometres in Subic. I really did
finish the half marathon. Sadly, my name was not on the results posted
at the official website. Good thing, I love a good mystery.
Exhibit A – Mesh took this picture.
“Naku hinahabol ako ng pulis hehehe”
See that’s me, race number 2068. The guy with race number 0159 is
Yancee, he is the PNP guy I ran with from the Subic clinic. I know he crossed
the finish line before me because silly me was trying to get Mesh to take a
jumpshot pix.
Here is the results …. no 2068 …. but there is an unnamed runner with
race number 3068. I therefore conclude that I was recorded under 3068.
Rank Race Number Time Last name First name
1466 3068 2:47:41
1467 0234 2:47:59 Dela Calzada Joseph M
1468 5175 2:48:01 MARIN Jerald
1469 3011 2:48:05
1470 0159 2:48:16 GOLOCAN YANCEE BUTCH
Here is another pix showing the other guys in my cluster.
So if Yancee crossed the finish line before I did, why is my time
better than his?
H said “everybody’s bib has an RFID (Radio Frequency
Identification), as you cross the start line, the system located on top of the start line
sends an RF signal into your bib indicating the start time, and as you cross
the finish line, the system records your end time. The difference is your
run time.”
But my watch recorded 2:52:50 and I started the time from when I
crossed the starting line and stopped it at the finish line also. Hmm … I’m
missing 5mins.
UPDATE 04Feb08: Opps… didnt check my email but on the same day this post was written, Rian of Outbound sent me an email. She said they apologize for the error and confirmed that I did rank 1466. They have also updated the race results for 21K. Thanks Rian!

hehehe so did you really run the 21?? hehe kiddin
the 21k runners doesnt have an rfid.. manual lang siya.. nagtipid sila and nilagay lang sa pang 42 hehe
the marker must have overlooked your number and logged it as 3 instead of 2
